New Saturday Yoga class!

New year, new Yoga class.

Happy New Year yoga friends!

I am very pleased to announce a new Saturday morning yoga class this winter for any community member.

Join me each Saturday morning at 10am for a 75 minute yoga class in the Peale Chapel on OWU campus.

We in the FIT OWU program have kept the cost low so many can afford to take the time to care for themselves. This class will have a similar format as the noon Tuesday and Thursday FIT OWU yoga class that will continue in the Branch Rickey Gym. We know how busy your workweek can be. During some weeks it is just not possible to get away even for a 50 minute lunchtime yoga class.

Cost just $60 prepaid for all eight weeks during the eight week module.*

You can also drop in for just $10 per session.

*We are encouraging you to make a commitment with the pay in advance option to earn the two free classes!

Bring a friend for a first class free. (Yes, spouses are encouraged to attend first class free.)

All Saturday classes will be in the Peale Chapel except where noted:

Thank you for your interest. Please pass the word along to anyone who may be interested in this opportunity to move in a way that aids in range of motion and ease of movement.

*The road to feeling healthy does not have to be a torture or something that one resents. Come and experience moving in way that feels good to you! You are most likely subject to some bad humor along the way. Consider yourself warned. :)

**This yoga class may contain large sections of habit forming fun activities.

Roller Derby: Tension Release and Body Alignment Workshop

Join Loretta Zedella for this two hour class Jan. 20 or 22, 2012

Have you ever felt that tightness in hamstrings, shoulders, or IT Band is prohibiting your enjoyment of certain movements on or off of the mat? We'll explore these issues and more as we use foam rollers, tennis balls, bolsters, belts and blankets to release tension from the body.

How might our habits of standing, sitting, and bending lead to this tension in our body? Let’s examine many of the common alignment issues we experience. We’ll explore how sitting in front of computers, in dining chairs, and in the car can cause hips, shoulders, and neck to misalign. Once the bones line up, the muscles tendons and joints as well as vital organs can also realign for optimal efficiency. Once they align, so can our energetic system. We’ll establish our range of motion and what we can do to enhance that.

Return home with handouts and skills to practice these simple and specific realigning techniques that can lead to more ease, a higher sense of well being, and more restful sleep.

Workshops will take place on Friday evening, January 20 & Sunday afternoon, January 22. Preregistration and prepayment required. Cost is $30 before January 18 & $35 after. Please register online www.VillageYogaPowell.com or call Village Yoga: 614.484.1575.
